Obituary of Jacqueline Mary Malden-Phelps

MALDEN-PHELPS Jacqueline "Jackie" Mary passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 in Tucson, AZ surrounded by family and loved ones after a long and difficult battle with frontotemporal dementia. Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Dawson, and survived by her loving husband, Bob Phelps; mother, Mary Dawson; brother, Sean Dawson; and only son, Kaj Malden. Jackie was born April 21, 1963, in Thornaby-on-Tees, England to Ralph and Mary Dawson. Jackie traveled the world, living in Switzerland, Mexico, and across the United States before settling down in Tucson, where she enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Jackie was known for her unmatched passion for helping people make lives and homes in the Tucson community, as well as her independence in pursuing her own ambitions. More than that, however, Jackie was known for her unparalleled kindness and warmth, always putting the happiness and welfare of others above herself. Jackie was an example of what it means to have a heart of gold. Giving and compassionate in spirit and genuine in her desire to bring joy to others, Jackie brought unique light to the world. She was loved by many, and has left indelible impressions on all those who knew her. Nowhere was her spirit of love and compassion more visible than in how she unconditionally loved and cared for her son. Kaj was the light of her life, her pride and joy whom she loved with all her heart. Jackie will be deeply missed, but she has been released from her suffering and is now at peace. Jackie's husband and son will organize a private remembrance in their family home to be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 to celebrate Jackie's life and legacy.
