SCHIPPERS, Joan Ethel Passed away on December 18, 2017, at age 76. Ethel was born in Morenci, Arizona, to Donald and Muriel "Brownie" White, and spent her youth in Arizona, Minnesota, and Iowa. She met her husband Kenneth, "Skip," in Des Moines and they married in 1972, moving to Tucson in 1973. Her hobbies over the years included water skiing, singing in a women's choir, macramé, knitting, and reading. More recently she enjoyed weekly breakfasts with her real estate buddies, movies, and trips to the casino. Ethel was a kind, generous, and fun-loving person who made many friends and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her husband Skip; sister, Jean (Craig) Gifford; daughter, Julie (James); son, Lucas (Susanna); two grandsons; and her extended family. A Celebration of Ethel's life will be held in Tucson on Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Tohono Chul Park - Wilson Room, 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET.
