Obituary of Mary Ruth Cleveland

Mary Ruth (Duncan) Cleveland was born in Mayfield, KY on July 16, 1943. She passed away on September 21, 2018. Her family moved to Tucson in 1959. She graduated from Tucson High in 1961. Mary worked at Hughes Aircraft before moving to Phoenix to be with her husband, Benjamin Cleveland, in 1975. In Phoenix she had multiple jobs over the years which included childcare, an in-home typing business, and data entry work. When Ben retired they moved to Green Valley, AZ and she worked as a caregiver. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, R. B. and Ruth Duncan. She is survived by her loving husband and daughter, Jennifer Cleveland. She is also survived by her four siblings, Don Duncan, Donna Rigsby (Richard), Dale Duncan (Penny), and David Duncan (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews. Being a mom was Mary's favorite role in life. A "FUN"eral, (as she liked to call it) celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 5th at 11:30 AM at Desert Sunset Funeral Home at 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd., Tucson, AZ. 85741. VERY CASUAL dress at Mary's request (jeans, shorts, and t-shirts). Memorial to be followed by lunch around the corner at her brother's house, then optional miniature golfing after. In lieu of flowers please donate to either the American Cancer Society or cureasc.org, a group trying to find better treatments and a cure for her rare cancer.
