Obituary of Dennis Mollenbrink

Dennis Mollenbrink was born February 20, 1953 and left this world peacefully on January 22, 2019 with his family by his side after a brief illness to be with his parents Floyd and Ann. Dennis is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary "Susan", sister Carol Erickson (Lloyd), brother Floyd Mollenbrink, brothers-in-law James Dwyer and John Dwyer (Connie), sisters-in-law Carol Ann Dwyer (Ben) and Carol Dwyer, nieces Jennifer Baker (Van), Lynne Erickson (Chad), Sherrill Erickson, Jamie Dwyer (Joe), and Kelly Dwyer, nephews James Mollenbrink and Dustin Dwyer, one great niece, Savannah Baker and parents-in-law William and Irene Dwyer. Dennis' father was a career military man (Army) so he was raised around the globe. He was born in Germany, spent early years in Georgia then back to Germany in the early 60s, back to the US at Fort Huachuca and one more tour in Bangkok, Thailand where he graduated from high school in 1971. His parents then retired in Huachuca City. There he attended Cochise College and received his AA in 1977. He then transferred to University of Arizona. There he received his BSBA in December 1979 and there his passion and love for the Wildcats began. Dennis spent his entire working career in the construction industry. He was a forklift driver at Sunset Lumber while attending Cochise. After graduating from U of A he went back to work at Sunset Lumber in Tucson as an outside salesman. When they closed he worked at Border Products in sales. After seven years there he moved on to Granite Construction where he retired in 2015 after 26 years with the company. Dennis and Sue met while attending Cochise. They were married August 5, 1978. Dennis was a boating enthusiast for over 20 years. They spent many weekends on all the large lakes in Arizona but Apache Lake was by far his favorite. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends hitting their favorite spots like Laughlin and Las Vegas. Dennis worked hard, played hard and enjoyed life to the fullest. There will be a remembrance board for Susan to have as a keepsake, so please bring any photos you can part with to add. Services will be held on Saturday January 26th at Desert Sunset Funeral Home 3081 W. Orange Grove Road at 11am followed by a Celebration of Life at Craft Republic at 7625 N. La Cholla Blvd.
