Obituary of Allen J. Simon

Allen J. Simon passed away sometime during Memorial Day weekend. He died due to complications from cancer. Allen grew up in Detroit, Michigan, with his Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed and older "brothers" (cousins) Edward, Jr. and Richard Simon. Allen is a graduate of Henry Ford High School. After high school, he was drafted in the 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. In 1967, while serving his tour of duty, he flew on a Huey gunship with the 4th Aviation Battalion. Allen was a crew chief, who manned one of the door guns. He and his fire team provided close air support to U.S. ground troops in the Central Highlands. He was stationed at Camp Enari in Pleiku, South Vietnam. Allen is predeceased by his father, Sam Simon (Arlene), his mother, Anna Parrinello (Thomas), uncle, Edward Simon, Sr. (Clara), aunts, Catherine Simon, Mary Parrinello, Dena Parrinello, and niece, Karen Wegeler (Greg). He is survived by his son, Troy Allen Simon, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lynn White, grandson, Luke Allen Simon, granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Simon, aunt Lena Parrinello, brothers, Edward Simon, Jr. (Midge), Richard Simon, sisters, Janice Felker, Roseann Felker, Charlotte Bass, Jackie Seifert (Ron), nephews, Darin Simon, Christopher Simon, Scott Simon (Ann), Michael Simon (Traci), nieces, Linda Baker (Charles), Ginger Ramilo (Arnel), Amber Bass, Carrie Felker, Christine Felker, and Jennifer Leyva. Allen will be buried at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona on July 5, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. A member from the clergy and an honor guard from Fort Huachuca will be present.
