Obituary of Sarah "Sally" Wilson Griffith

Sarah “Sally” Wilson Griffith passed away on July 18, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona.

Sally is survived by her two daughters, Lesley Alsentzer Chamberlain (Paul), Phoenix, AZ, and Michele Guy Thompson (Gary), Tucson, AZ, her brother, R. Riggs Griffith V (Gloria), State College, PA and her four grandchildren, Grant, Reese, Lauren and Berkeley.

She was born in Wilmington, Delaware by parents Romulus Riggs Griffith IV and Evelyn Fell Wilson. She graduated from Pierre S. DuPont High School in 1959 and earned an Associate Degree from the University of Delaware.  She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1979 where she raised her two daughters until eventually moving to Tucson in 2000. She retired from the law firm of Lewis & Roca as a legal secretary in 2009.

Sally was a loving mother and grandmother. She appreciated Arizona’s beauty and warm weather. Sally was an avid animal lover of both wildlife and domestic animals, loved watching both golf and her Arizona Diamondbacks as well as taking her dog, Hunter, for walks.  She is no doubt surrounded by sweet animals in heaven.

At her request, the family will hold a private memorial and spread her ashes on the mountains of Tucson, which she admired.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. https://hssaz.org/help/donate/
