Obituary of Michael Lewis Roth

Michael Lewis Roth, born April 15, 1944 to Russell and Janet Roth in Bay City, Michigan. Loved his grandmother Lucille Yeakey and sister Lindsay.

Michael in the US Air Force as a Medic from August 1962 to March 1970. Duty Stations: Lackland AFB, TX; Greenville AFB, MS; England AFB, LA; Wheelus AFB, Lybia; Maxwell AFB, AL; Tuy Hoa AB, Vietnam; Takhli AFB, Thailand; Forbes AFB, KS. Honorably discharged at rank of Staff Sergeant.

Earned BA degree May 1975 from Saginaw Valley State University with a Major in English. Earned M Ed degree May 1979 from University of Arizona.

Married Melinda Cooper on October 12, 1976.

Children: Jeremy Blackhorse and Danielle Kim Roth.

Grandchildren: Gabriel Sillas, Harbour Ashby, Desiree Blackhorse and Preslee Ashby.

Worked a whole career from November 1976 to May 2004 as a public school teacher in Kayenta, Tuba City, Cottonwood, and Tucson, Arizona.

Hobbies included song writing and playing guitar, photography, reading, coin and sports card collecting, welding and travel.

 

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
