Ralph you will be missed…
I remember him working hard to make a ton a crosses. Ones to put around our necks or hang somewhere or ones that could stand all on their own. I thought how wonderfully he was skilled and what he did with that skill. It touched my heart to see a grown man making crosses to give give away.
The few holidays we spent with him (Thanksgiving mainly), he always was such a good cook whatever he made. This did my heart well because it reminded me of my dad. How blessed we are to have memories of dads cooking. Again another way that Ralph poured into others by blessing them/us with good food.
But I would have to say one of the best memories I have of Ralph was when he would come to our office and make time to chat with me. He would fill me in on what was up with him and maybe what challenges he was facing especially the last several years. This was his simple way of letting his daughters’ friend into his world. Nothing in life is better than sharing life with others. Ralph let me in a little and I am so grateful for that. He alway gave me time to catch him up on me and my family as well. Those are precious moments I had with Ralph.
Ralph and I shared July birthdays and we also shared a favorite food: crab legs! I will never eat crab without thinking of Ralph!
You are home now, Ralph, where the pains of this world are no more!
