Obituary of Florentino "Tino" R Saiz Jr.

Florentino "Tino/ Buyo/Chief " Saiz Jr. passed away peacefully the evening of Sat. March 26th, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Morenci,Az on Nov.22nd,1943 to Florentino "Tino" Saiz Sr. & Michaela "Mickey" Saiz. Both parents have preceeded him in death,also sisters Virginia Landinger & Mary Helen Houston.

He attended school in Clifton,Az. Enjoyed deer hunting in Unit 27 as a young boy until a few years ago. Also fishing in the White Mountains & Gila River,& coaching Little League baseball.

He worked for City of Clifton & Sanitary Market,until moving to Mammoth in 1972 to work for Magma/BHP Copper,as a crane mechanic. Also served with  Mammoth Volunteer Fire Dept.for over 35 years, serving as Fire Chief for 28 years. He eventually retired from both jobs.

He is survived by Charlotte,his wife of 59 years. Daughter Robin of Tucson,Son Michael(Stephanie)of Mesa,& Rachel(Todd)of Tucson. Six grandchildren,three bonus grandchildren,ten great grandchildren, brothers Johnny of Apache Grove & Mike(Margie)of Oracle along with many other family & friends.

Services will be held April 30th,2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth,Az. Rosary at 11a.m., Mass at 11:30am followed by a Fire Department Ceremony. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Parrish Hall next to the church after services.
