Obituary of Gary Lee Scott

Gary Lee Scott, a Heavy Mining Equipment Mechanic and longtime resident of Tucson, passed away unexpectantly on March 13, 2023, at the age of 61.

 

Gary is survived by his children Gary Lee Scott II, Katelyne Ranae Scott (Logan Slater), his grandchildren Ireland and Abigail Scott, his brothers Frank (Wanda) Scott, Lawrence (Judy) Scott, Billy (Becky) Scott and sister Judy Scott.  He is Preceded by his life-long love and wife Janet Scott, brothers David (Marta) Scott, Ricard (Janet) Scott, Robert (Jo) Scott, Karl Scott, and sister Barbara Scott.

 

Gary was born to Alfred E. and Shirley L.  Scott in Wichita, Kansas. Soon after they relocated to Arizona where he was raised with 9 other siblings. Gary served in the US Army having toured in Korea and Germany and was stationed at US bases – Killeen, Texas and Barstow California. He was a mechanic for most of his career, working for various mining companies. Gary was a family man and extremely dedicated to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was often seen with family members enjoying dinners, attending performances of family members as well as holiday and vacation outings. Gary was the type of person that was always available to support those in need. He was a man who went the extra mile for others; a helping husband, father, grandfather and even there for complete strangers.  Gary had many friends and extended family members; he will be deeply missed by all.
