Dear Willett family, It was my honor to know and serve with Gary in Hawaii, and Iraq in 1-21 IN "Gimlets." He is the best this country and military ever bore. I cherish his example of selfless service and utter professionalism. In deepest sympathy for such a great loss of an American Hero, he will be remembered this Memorial Day and every day for the rest of this soldier's life.

Our deepest and most sincere condolences to Gary's entire family. We were stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado with him many years ago. He was such a truly caring and kind person. He will always be remembered and will be deeply missed by those who knew him and the country he protected!! May God help you all through this terrible time of sorrow. Our prayers are with you. Sincerely, SSG. Paul and Rebecca Fisk

I'm very sorry about your loss. SGT Willet was a great friend of mine while i was stationed in Hawaii with him. He was my company operations NCO in HHC. and he was one of my squad leaders in IRAQ the first time in 2004-2005. I was his 1SG. He was a dedicated Soldier even though he expressed his opinion, thats what was great about him and made him stand out. I wish I could have been there with him again but other duties in the Army pull you in different directions. Again I am very sorry for your loss and our loss in the US Army. Please take care.

Our condolences to the whole family, Jennifer and I were very sorry to hear of Gary's death and send our thoughts and prayers to you. Gary will be missed, God bless you in your time of sorrow. "Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for, and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, then lost it, have never known it again.”
