Obituary of Robert Oren Campbell

Robert Oren (Scotty) Campbell, 83, died on April 4, 2018. He is survived by his wife Meredith, daughter Darsen (Jennifer Prissel), and grandson Tate. Robert was born on March 26, 1935 in Sewickley, PA. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to a covert intelligence unit. He earned a degree in journalism from New York University and started his career at United Press International where he earned the nickname "Scotty." His work took him around the world. Robert started his own public relations agency in Allentown, PA and co-founded the Old Allentown Preservation Society. Later, he worked for Grand View Hospital in Perkasie, PA, and served as chairman for Pennridge Community Day. He ended his career with the Minnesota Dept. of Veterans Affairs in St. Paul, MN. His lifetime appreciation of the Southwest drew him to Tucson, AZ for retirement. Deeply connected to art, nature and history, he was an avid arts patron, gardener, traveler and volunteer. He was a thoughtful and sensitive husband and father who will be missed greatly. A private celebration of his life will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Memorials may be sent to the Audubon Society in his name.
