Obituary of John P. Dailey

John P. Dailey, 61, of Marana, AZ passed away October 20, 2009 at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson. John is survived by his wife Gloria Rich, and stepdaughters, Melissa Rich and Tracy Spangler; sister Deborah Ranson and family; in-laws, Karoly and Carol Horvath; sister in law, Eva Morin and husband Howard and their daughters, Richelle and Amber; sister-in- law, Deborah Henley and her husband, Michael and their daughters, Megan and Erin; brothers in law, Karcsi Horvath, and Scott Horvath and wife, Elizabeth. He is predeceased by his daughter Kirsten Rahn and son Shawn Dailey. John leaves behind many people who love him dearly. His life encompassed years in the Hospitality industry in Michigan, Colorado and Arizona, followed by a career as a Professor at Pima Community College, Northern Arizona University and University of Phoenix. John received his Doctorate Degree in Education in May of 2002. John was involved with So. Arizona Lodging and Resort Assn., Arizona Hotel and Lodging Assn., Casas Adobes Rotary Club, Marana Health Center, Boys and Girls Clubs, Town of Marana Planning and Zoning Commission, Junior Achievement, Casa de los Ninos, Tucson Convention/Visitors Bureau, Professional Faculty Development with Pima Community College, President's Advisory Council for NW PCC and at his church as a Deacon. He was an avid gardener who loved his flowers and vegetables. He loved to read and listen to books on tapes. His favorite weekend indulgence was to spend time at the Crown C Ranch in Sonoita with Gloria. John will be missed especially by, Gloria and her family. John's love of life was evident in everything that he said and did. His light will shine in our heavens for many years to come and will illuminate the lives of everyone who had the joy of knowing him. John leaves his legacy with his power to make us better people each and everyday we live. We will miss you sweetheart…..The family wants to thank the staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice, Arizona Oncology, friends and family for their love and care shown to John. A celebration of John's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Community Christian Church of Marana, 13610 N. Sandario Rd. Marana.
