Obituary of Helen D. Kedney

HELEN D. KEDNEY 86, passed away on October 27, 2009. Helen, born August 19, 1923, was the daughter of the late Stephanie and Peter Joswick of Bayonne, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kedney; son, Peter; brothers, Anthony, Stanley, Peter and Alphonse; sisters, Stella, Mary, Harriet, and Francis; and her dog, Kelly. She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Kedney Schaffer; son-in-law, Peter Schaffer; nieces and nephews; and grand dog, Jackalyn. Helen was a devoted Navy wife. She moved to Arizona with her daughter after living for many years in Mamaroneck, NY with her husband after he retired. Helen loved people and animals. She liked to dance, tell stories, and make people laugh. She will be remembered as feisty and funny. She was admired for her strength, kindness, and humanity throughout her life and during her final days in Northwest Medical Center. She was soft-hearted and her generosity touched the lives of many people. She was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. A Memorial Service in celebration of Helen's life will be held at Mona Lisa Town Homes Club House, 2451 Via Di Silvio, Sunday, November 8th at 3:00 PM. Helen will be buried with her husband and son in Port Chester, New York. Memorial donations may be made to The Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
