Obituary of Flora Belle Sills

Flora Sills passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at her son's home in Tucson, Arizona. She was surrounded by family of whom she is survived by: her two sons Jeffrey and John, John's wife Mariko, and their two dogs Blu and Chili. Flora hailed from Lincoln, Nebraska but found her true home to be Boston, Massachusetts where she had run her successful flower shop, "Designs by Flora" on Shawmut Avenue in the South End. She was a vibrant creative soul and loved to have fun and parties. Known and admired by many for her style and charm, Flora had great appreciation for that which was beautiful. She was very active in the community and was also known for her volunteer work with children. Her remains will be laid to rest on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham, Massachusetts. There will be an informal gathering Celebration of Life at her home in Tucson on Sunday January 24 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Desert Sunset Funeral Home, (297-9007).
