Obituary of Harold H. Ingram

Harold H. Ingram March 20, 1921 - January 23, 2010 Dad finished his earthly race Saturday after a long, courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Syracuse, NY, in his 20's Dad hitchhiked across the United States. He met Mom on a ship from Seattle to Alaska at the outbreak of WW II. They both worked for the Air Force in the war effort, moving to Arizona after the war, where Dad first worked for Arizona Hardware, then Grant Road Lumber. After losing Mom in 1979, Dad moved to his beloved cabin under the Mogollon Rim, where he joyfully lived until the progression of his disease forced him to return to Tucson in 2007. An avid hunter, fisherman, photographer, numismatist, chef, proud NRA Patriot, and bon vivant, Dad was probably the only person to have been champion of both the Tucson Rifle Club and the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club. He loved family, reading, and Wildcat basketball. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, Dad is survived by his sister, Mary Hill (Don); his children, Mary Nelson (Ron) and Jim Ingram (Judy); granddaughters, Lori Campbell (Shawn), Kelly Nelson, Johanna and Joelle Ingram; great-grandchildren, Kadin and Chala Campbell. Entombment at EAST LAWN PALMS CEMETERY, 5801 E Grant Road. Donations may be made to the Margaret M. Ingram Scholarship Fund, C/O the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, 2250 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85719. Dad died like he lived-a strong and independent man. We miss you, Dad. Rest in peace. Arrangements entrusted to DESERT SUNSET CATALINA 818-0038.
