Obituary of Teresa Kay Valenzuela

Teresa Kay (Arendell) Valenzuela Teresa Kay (Arendell) Valenzuela, 55, was carried home to heaven by angels on Feb. 7, 2010. She was finally able to let go after a long, hard battle. "Terri" was an inspiration to many and touched lives everywhere she went. The "center" of her family, Terri was the glue that held everyone together, making sure we always knew we were loved! We never had to question that she would always be there to help in any way. She taught us all to love unconditionally and if someone is in need do not judge or question their need, just help. Terri wore many "hats" throughout her life: gymnast, valedictorian, teacher, flight attendant, daughter, sister, wife, but most important to her, a mother, grandmother and friend. Her kids and grandkids were her life and everything she accomplished or achieved was for them. Raising them as a single mother, Terri had a bond and love with her children that cannot be quantified. She always made sure to give back, even in times of poor health, to people and organizations that helped her with her struggles and hardships. As an avid Board Member of the Community Food Bank in Tucson, AZ, Terri was asked to represent the Food Bank and speak at numerous events around Arizona. She represented the face and the too often unheard voice of the client, due to her experience of using the food bank to feed her children. Terri will be deeply missed and can never be replaced in the hearts of her friends and loved ones. We love you, and it's your time to rest with no more pain and be with angels. She is survived by her daughters, Tiana and Felis; son, Andres; grandchildren, Alexia and Kyler; parents Don and Shirley Arendell; brothers Rick and Alex; boyfriend, Rey Gallego; daughter in-law Elizabeth Anderson and many beloved friends and extended family. Come celebrate her life with us! Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7650 N. Paseo Del Norte. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tucson Community Food Bank in honor of Terri.
