Obituary of Alfonso E. Navarro

Alfonso "Al" Navarro of Tucson passed away peacefully, with his family at his side on March 13, 2010 at the age of 61. Al was born Oct. 11, 1948, in California. He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances "Corky" Navarro. Al is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kathy; his children Marshall (Ali) Navarro, Alison (Brad) Newell, Lesley (Trevor) Young, & his recently reunited son, Peter Navarro; his granddaughter, Isla; his father Alfonso Navarro, Sr.; his sisters Ramona Saunders, Alicia Pizano, and Cecilia Reed; a large extended family and many friends. Al was an avid sports fan; cheering on the Arizona Wildcats, Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Dodgers. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and vacationing with his family on the beaches of Cholla Bay, Mexico. Al enjoyed making others laugh & never passed up an opportunity to recycle his old jokes on a new audience. A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove in Tucson. A reception will follow at Al's favorite hangout, Chuy's on Ina Road. Al was a very laid back guy & would love it if you came in casual attire.
