Obituary of Jewel K. Edwards

Jewel Kathleen "Billie" Edwards, was born in Oklahoma April 9, 1926, and passed away in Tucson June 14, 2010. She is preceded in death by her son Michael D. Edwards. Survived by her daughters, Sally Jane Woelker of California, Shelly Finn of Colorado; and brother, Bruce O. Schoenberger Jr. of Tucson, Arizona. Billie spent her early years in California where she started working as a waitress at the age of 16, pleasing and charming many customers over the 50 years. She did have a brief touch with Hollywood in the 40's as a riding double for Barbara Stanwyck, which only added to her sparkle. She spent a short time with her brother in Alaska then returned to California, eventually moving out to Tucson where she has lived with her brother for the last 23 years. Billie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the local VFW Post 10188 where she made many friends whom she enjoyed working with in the kitchen, playing years of Bingo as well as being their personal Avon Representative. Her grace and smile will be missed by all. Memorial Service will be held at the VFW Post 10188 on June 27, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Desert Sunset Funeral Home (297-9007).
