Janice Lomen

Obituary of Janice Marie Lomen

Janice Marie Lomen was called home April 24, 2022, after enduring many years of pain. Janice was born in1942 in Texarkana, Texas to the parents of Lonnie and Esther Russell, who have both preceded her in death.

The family moved around quite a bit before they ended up in Torrance, California, where she completed her education, married, and started a family. Janice moved to Tucson from California in 1991, and started to work at Pima County Superior Court in Adult Probation. She later retired from there.

She looked forward to a yearly get together with her sisters for a weekend of late night gab sessions, movie watching, food and lots of laughs. She also enjoyed lunches out with a friend and sisters every week.

In 1997, Jan was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and treated for 6 years with chemicals no longer used at that time. She went for a second opinion after her insurance no longer covered that particular doctor. It was then that Janice discovered that she did not, nor ever did have cancer. The treatments she endured were the cause of pain and many years of medical problems (for the newspaper article here).

Janice is survived by her sons Bradley Lomen of Las Vegas, Nevada, David Lomen of Tujunga, California; Two grandsons, Tristan Lomen and Hudson Lomen of Las Vegas and her daughter-in-law Rose Lomen of Las Vegas. She is also survived by her four sisters, Sandra Farris and Darlene McKeen of Tucson, Arizona, Mary Barta of Lomita, California, and Brenda Smith of Laconia, New Hampshire.
